Job Overview

The Server Assistant plays a critical support role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position assists Servers and the kitchen team by ensuring timely food delivery, maintaining clean and organized dining areas, and anticipating guest needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and contributes to seamless service through teamwork, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Support

  • Assist Servers in providing friendly, attentive, and efficient guest service

  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guest tables accurately and promptly

  • Maintain food quality, presentation, and temperature standards

  • Respond to guest requests and assist with basic guest needs as needed

Table Maintenance & Dining Room Operations

  • Set, clear, and reset tables with appropriate tableware, glassware, and condiments

  • Remove used dishes, utensils, and debris promptly to maintain cleanliness

  • Refill water, bread, and other table items as assigned

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas

Kitchen & Operational Support

  • Support kitchen staff with plating, running food, and other service-related tasks

  • Follow all food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures

  • Assist with stocking service stations, supplies, and equipment

  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout service

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with Servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff

  • Communicate clearly and efficiently during service periods

  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and supportive team environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to lift and carry trays, dishware, and service items

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Skills and Experience (Essential)

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English and have basic food/beverage knowledge

Skills and Experience (Preferred)

  • Communication in other languages is helpful
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when dealing with upset guests
