KBR is seeking an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Solution Architect to join our HHPC team focused on EHR system, clinical applications, and diagnostic imaging. The successful candidate will partner with the business and IT teams in defining robust integrated technology platforms and solutions designed to solve complex business problems for HHPC’s customers. Focused on a specific service line, the Solution Architect will translate business needs into standard business capabilities, architectural patterns, and road maps, exploring the ability to leverage existing technology investments.

This is a challenging position that requires strong solution design skills and a wide range of cross-disciplinary knowledge in clinical patient applications, diagnostic imaging systems, hardware, software, and external system interfaces. It encompasses:
• Finding the best tech solution among all possible to solve the existing business problems
• Describing the structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of software to project stakeholders
• Defining features, phases, and solution requirements
• Providing specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered
The Ideal Candidate:
• The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in clinical patient care apps and diagnostic imaging, experience working with IT systems and technology and a broad view of how these systems interact to deliver quality patient care.
• The ideal candidate will have certifications or work experience designing architectural solutions and working with a cross section of business and technology resources to execute those designs.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for the end-to-end IT architecture of clinical systems, in consultation with specialists in the various solution domains
Serve as KBR's primary technical solution contact for clinical systems strategy.
Drive and govern the detailed technology solution design in collaboration with clinical stakeholders:
Define from a technology architecture the solution design in appropriate detail.
Provide architectural guidance to other teams.
Define solution options and drive the decision-making for option evaluation and selection.
Together with other KBR stakeholders drive the process to address and govern IT architecture design variations and issues.
Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization to define strategies, points of view, road maps, workflows, reference architectures, and other deliverables to support technology selection, implementation, integration, and management.
Responsible for influencing the architecture of solutions for the functional areas within their respective domain(s) or business horizontal(s)
Work closely with partners inside and outside IT and across business communities in assessing technology requirements and identifying potential technology solutions, always assessing existing technology investments as a first step.
Create and evangelize reference architectures for clinical systems.
Participates in cross-functional teams for developing and implementing new processes, standards, and high-level requirements. Works in conjunction with applications, security, legal, compliance, operations, engineering, and other areas, as necessary
Contribute to the creation of business-driven technology roadmaps.
Ensure solution designs are aligned with strategic directions, architectures, and principles.
Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture standards for clinical applications and technologies.
Credentials and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in a related field with 7 years’ experience designing and deploying patient care and imaging systems. Must demonstrate experience within solution architecture for functional areas within their respective domain(s) or business horizontal(s).
Preferred degree program will be in a Technology related field.
Agile experience preferred (at scale)
