COMPENSATION:

RATES STARTING AT $28.00-$33.00/hour (based on experience)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all production equipment and machinery as well as for the repair, maintenance and appearance of the facility.


MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• ATTENDANCE IS PARAMOUNT. All associates are required to report to their scheduled shift on time and work their entire shift.
• Maintain a professional attitude towards coworkers and company.
• Clean assigned workstations.
• Completes the repairs and maintenance of production equipment and machinery.
• The duties will include trouble shooting equipment & machinery, allocating the proper spare parts to complete the repair and to maintain appropriate maintenance documentation.
• Responds to production and/of facility emergencies to maintain production output.
• Establishes priorities based on available information, work processes and current production commitments.
• Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery as defined by the set of procedures.
• Follow established procedures to maintain lubrication levels and/or to lubricate and adjust production equipment as necessary.
• Responds to safety emergencies and situations requiring immediate attention.
• Additional Duties And Back-Up Responsibilities:
• Supports production as requested by the production supervisor and/or the maintenance supervisor. Including but not limited to, screw and barrel cleanings, making water hoses, relocating equipment, responding to oil and water spills.
• Maintains and repairs the facility as necessary, including drywall repair and small building projects and plumbing fixture repair.
Performs all duties and directs others creating a safe working environment for our employees and our communities.
• Performs other duties as necessary

EXPECTATION:

• Develop skills to perform basic, repetitive and manual activities in the job.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
• Master all requirements of Maintenance Technician I in order to advance to Maintenance Technician II.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or equivalent)

EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 18 years of age
• 1-2 years maintenance experience, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Specialized training in electricity - high and low voltage systems preferred
• Machine control
• programmable controllers and ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics
• Specialized training in hydraulics systems and components and be able to read hydraulic blueprints and schematics

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work as a team
• Ability to do repetitive work
• Ability to read, understand and follow specification sheets
• Basic mathematical skills to understand variation
• Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Light work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
• Excellent vision
