Job Description

We are responsible for strategically sourcing Machinery & Equipment for production and development. We work in a dynamic environment, collaborating closely with the business to develop and implement procurement plans. Our global network connects you with a diverse range of colleagues across Scania, TRATON, Volkswagen Group, and with suppliers.

 

You will play a central role in shaping Scania's sourcing strategy for Investments. Your work will include both strategic and practical aspects, from negotiation and driving improvements in our group, to defining the global strategy that promote right balance between our value drivers – technology, quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.

 

As senior in our team you will represent Indirect Procurement in multi-functional projects and steering groups, while challenge current status quo and find new innovative solutions in close collaboration with our key stakeholders.

 

While some of the responsibilities can vary based on the scope of current procurement activities, here is the list of typical tasks for this role:

• Lead and manage complex procurement projects.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with Scania's overall goals and sustainability initiatives
• Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers, continuously evaluate and assess potential risks connected to supplier performance
• Lead Strategic Category Management work and align category strategies within Traton and Volkswagen Group.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering their skills and expertise in strategic sourcing for Investment Goods.
• Proactively initiate and drive improvement projects in connection to routines and standard operation processes
• Act as a role model in terms of purchasing ways of working and Scania core values
• Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments related to the segment, anticipating challenges and opportunities that impact sourcing strategies.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with a proven track record of success in strategic procurement. You possess a strong understanding of commercial principles and negotiation tactics, and can evaluate risks and opportunities in commercial agreements You are a natural collaborator who enjoys sharing your knowledge and guiding others with your expertise. A relevant academic degree and fluency in English are essential.
