Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Psychological Science (PSYC), in collaboration with the African and African American Studies (AAST) Program in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology to start in August 2026. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment with a competitive startup package.

Successful applicants must have: (1) a PhD in psychology or closely related field (e.g., human development) from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of appointment; (2) an active research agenda in any area within psychological science (e.g., clinical, cognitive, developmental, neuroscience, social) that focuses on centering members of the African Diaspora; (3) evidence of scholarly productivity as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals; (4) a demonstrated commitment to collegiality, collaboration, and institutional belonging efforts (belonging.uark.edu); and (5) an ability to contribute to the PSYC department’s teaching mission in both graduate training and undergraduate instruction, including courses that can be cross-listed with AAST.
