The Opportunity

The selected professional will serve as a client leader with Southern Florida clients with a keen focus on business development, establishing and furthering client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction on project delivery to our clients, and proactive client engagement.  The professional will be externally focused supporting the Black & Veatch brand in the market and seen as a business leader in South Florida. 

 

As the Project Director, you will have the opportunity to:

 

• Manage all aspects of large Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality
• Be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Provide for the successful staffing of the project
• Manage and lead large teams of multi-discipline professionals
• Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third party companies contributing to the initiative

Black & Veatch’s Governments & Communities focuses on specific infrastructure needs of municipalities, state and local governments, and specialized physical and digital infrastructure solutions for government and federal agencies. This is a position that will be based out of our Southern Florida offices (Coral Gables, Coral Springs, or West Palm Beach) but Coral Gables is preferred. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manages large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners or medium EPC projects. 
• Manages multiple clients and/or projects where the project team, client structure and/or project location present greater challenges. 
• Obtains new/repeat business on large size projects; supports contract negotiations with clients. 
• Manages multiple risks which includes fixed price or new technology or non-domestic markets or new clients. 

Preferred Qualifications

Typically 12 years experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
