Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Barry is currently seeking applicants for a Machine Operator. The CO₂ Laser / Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and monitoring of CO₂ laser cutting and marking equipment used in the production of precision components. This role ensures parts are produced to specification, meets quality standards, and supports daily production goals. The operator will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain process stability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Location:
Vishay Barry is located in Attleboro, MA that is conveniently located near the main highways as well as some highly recommended restaurants. There are approximately 70 employees working at our 40,000 sq. ft. facility of manufacturing space. This would be an on-site position.
What you will be doing:
Machine Operation
- Set up, operate, and monitor CO₂ laser cutting and marking machines according to work instructions and production schedules
- Load raw materials and unload finished components while maintaining proper part handling procedures
- Adjust machine parameters such as power, speed, and focus to meet process requirements
- Monitor machine performance and detect abnormalities during operation
Quality Control
- Inspect parts during production to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, microscopes, and gauges to verify part dimensions and tolerances
- Record production and inspection data in required systems or production logs
Production & Workflow
- Follow daily production schedules and prioritize work to meet delivery commitments
- Maintain proper material flow, traceability, and part identification throughout the process
- Support team efforts to meet production targets, throughput goals, and On-Time Delivery requirements
Equipment Care & Safety
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and preventative checks
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Follow all company policies regarding machine safety, hazardous materials, and environmental controls
- Continuous Improvement
- Support Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and process improvement activities
- Provide feedback on process issues and opportunities to improve efficiency and product quality
- Escalate non-conforming product or process deviations to supervisors or quality personnel
What you will bring along:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical training or certification in manufacturing, machining, or laser systems preferred
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience operating manufacturing equipment preferred
- Experience with laser cutting, marking, or CNC equipment is highly desirable
- Experience working in precision manufacturing or electronics production is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Basic understanding of machine controls and process parameters
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation
