About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is searching for a talented Technical Project Engineer to become part of Peraton’s Citizens Security & Public Services.

 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, and assigning personnel accordingly. Review bids from contractors.
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards. Complete technical studies and prepare cost estimates.
  • Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes. Recommend necessary actions.
  • Control project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Recommend appropriate actions.
  • Take responsibility for technical and operational leadership of a project/mission within programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer.
  • Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation.
  • Conduct technical studies to refine project requirements.
  • Monitor projects to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 0 years of experience or a High School Diploma and 4 years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Demonstrates conceptual understanding of theories, practices, and procedures within a specific job discipline.
  • Executes routine assignments using established procedures.
  • Receives instruction and guidance as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is a plus

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
