Job Description

The Zurn Engineering Internship offers a great opportunity for exposure to a hands-on learning environment. Student will work with the engineering team on a project basis and/or provide engineering support for multiple ongoing projects.

This position is located at our Zurn Wilkins facility, which is in Paso Robles, CA.

Key Accountabilities

• Involvement with product design, project management, failure mode analysis, physical product testing, technical literature creation, and other tasks related to New Product Development (NPD) and Value Added Value Engineered (VAVE) project process flow
• Perform AutoCAD & Inventor Drafting tasks on drawing revisions and drawing creation
• Learn drawing revision control practices and procedures
• Learn to use FEA and CFD simulation software to analyze product designs
• Use 3D printers and machine shop resources to build physical prototypes
• Validate and verify product performance with physical testing in on-site hydraulics laboratory

Qualifications

• Currently attending school for a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.  
• Must have completed course work relating to design.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week on a project assignment basis.
• Available for summer of 2023 (May – August).
