About the role

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises the controls activities across Universal Kids Resort (UKR) theme park and manages sustainability-related tasks and small-scale projects. Contributes to routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities for all maintenance functions within the area of responsibility. Manages and leads technical staff to include continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Provides root cause failure analysis, test integration for ride systems, and management of all documentation associated. Provides “hands on” management of field and staff and implements efficient and timely document control. Manages the preventative, predictive, corrective, and annual maintenance activities and seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives. Facilitates the hiring, training, and scheduling of assigned team. Ensures the safety of both Guests and Team Members in all attractions, shows, and water play areas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gives direction and instruction to assigned team. Responsible for the management of and where appropriate, delegation of tasks including but not limited to: work statements, work breakdown structures, developing and tracking budget and schedule, tracking individual project tasks, providing risk analysis, tracking and resolving issues and action items, providing various project management visibility and control measures and reports as needed and communicating to team and stakeholders. Performs requirements gathering and quality assurance as needed.
  • Works closely with affected teams to understand their business and system problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements. Works across teams to identify solutions that enable the organization to achieve its project goals. Manages the team’s implementation of solutions (proactive maintenance practices) to improve operational reliability, safety, and serviceability of Ride & Show equipment through improved diagnostics, technician training, and Preventative Maintenance improvement.
  • Ensures team is producing quality documentation and business process models as needed, and that status updates of assigned task list items are provided to the appropriate Technical Services management and Engineering management on a regular basis. Ensures all updates are being documented in Maximo on a regular basis. Manages and leads training and development of all direct reports in assigned area.  Manages schedules and personnel records for direct reports. Ensures safety compliance and adherence to all Universal policies and procedures across Ride & Show. Ensures safety is the top priority of Ride & Show team.
  • Traces the requirements throughout project to ensure that the scope is managed and that the original requirements are delivered. Performs oversight of the vendor support and technician design implementation work including, but not limited to, evaluation of technical performance which includes all aspects of the project. Coordinates assigned activities between Ride & Show Coordinators, Supervisors, Managers, and Technicians.
  • Drives and executes plans for Ride & Show team that directly affect TSAT, GSAT, and safety standards while utilizing existing tools to measure and monitor performance against targets. Develops appropriate action plans to achieve or exceed targets.
  • Focuses on fiscal responsibility, ensuring budget spending is controlled and reported properly. Assists in building mitigation plans for budget overages. Contributes to the building and managing of routine budgets for responsible area to include all expenses needed to achieve goals. Monitors overtime, ensuring only used when absolutely necessary.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises a Non-Exempt team.
