Job Description
The Associate Battery Engineer will work on the Advanced R&D group to develop the next generation of Li-ion batteries based on 24M’s core SemiSolidTM technology and support product deployment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, or similar.
- Experience with equipment operation, materials handling equipment operation, materials handling, process assembly, and analytical testing.
- Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate in a data driven manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and also as part of team.
- Ability to work simultaneously on several projects.
- Self-motivated and taking responsibility for project implementation.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Li-ion or other battery experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct materials characterization testing.
- Develop and validate standard test procedures and equipment.
- Design and assemble development cells from hand-built lab prototypes to semi-automated and automated assembly.
- Analyze and report test results and cell data.
- Performing other functions as required to support the R&D operation.
Additional Information
Physical and Environmental Standards:
- Capable of working in low moisture dry room environment: < 1.0% Relative Humidity (-50°C dew point)
- Capable of wearing clean room attire when working in dry room environment: face mask, hair net, safety glasses, gloves, coverall suit and shoe covers
- Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
