About the role

Gartner Analysts support clients with their most critical business and technology challenges. They combine Gartner Research and their experience to help clients solve complex issues, adopt new practices, and make better decisions. They identify and describe client challenges and articulate actionable advice that may be pragmatic or provocative. They reduce complex and multi-faceted issues into manageable problems. Client advice is delivered via published documents, virtual client-inquiry, on-line presentations, sales support meetings, and Gartner conferences.

Who you are:

A Senior Director Analyst in the EET Semiconductor group will apply their experience and Gartner insight to advise Product Leaders in Gartner’s technology provider clients on Compute Platform Semiconductor solutions with a focus on AI Semiconductors.

The role requires a broad experience of PC and server architectures, High Performance Computing (HPC), AI workloads and computer architecture.  An understanding of end market demand characteristics and chip manufacturing, industry revenue cycles, cyclical timing in capital expenditure for fab equipment is required. Experience in the semiconductor industry is critical. Specific understanding of AI accelerators solutions for training and inference is preferred as is experience in product manager or product marketeer decision making. Candidates should have a thorough knowledge of the internal industry and external market factors that force semiconductor technology changes. Candidates should be capable of speaking with authority on these issues as they relate to Product Leader decision making throughout the supply chain.

What you'll do:

  • Create clear business related and actionable advice for Product Leaders associated with emerging trends in the AI hardware accelerator market and high performance Microprocessors:
    • Analyzing the factors that will influence future AI Accelerator demand.
    • Forecasting Server, and Semiconductor market revenue inflexion points.
    • Evaluating new semiconductor and system architectures to meet future compute requirement
  • Write new syndicated research to meet Product Leader clients’ needs.
  • Identify emerging technologies that will impact the semiconductor manufacturing industry and equipment vendors utilizing semiconductor based technologies
  • Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, and client briefings.
  • Provide sales support by speaking to prospective and existing clients by Webex/Teams/Zoom

What you'll need:

  • 12+ years of experiences as Product or Marketing Manager or Competitive Intelligence Manager at a semiconductor supplier or an equipment OEM supplying high performance computing solution (PC/Server).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in technology domain.
  • Strong analytical mindset and familiarity with communicating via frameworks and models.
  • Experience in one or more of:
    • Compute Microprocessors
    • AI Server demand and data center Workloads
    • Multiprocessor SoC design
    • Client facing Semiconductor Product Marketing 
    • Semiconductor & AI related emerging technologies.

  • Successful track record of forecasting and analyzing market information
  • Strong executive presence, ability to engage C-level clients in all world regions and build up rapport.
  • Ability to work independently, set personal interim goals and motivated by a multicultural global team.
  • Strong personal organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Interested in and skilled at, clear, concise, actionable writing in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).
