Position Summary
The Chugach National Forest GIS Team is seeking an enthusiastic candidate for a placement. This position will provide general GIS support for a wide variety of projects and programs across the Chugach National Forest, including aquatics, ecology, recreation, and wildlife. The work schedule will be full-time. Most job duties are computer-based and will be performed in the Chugach National Forest Supervisors Office in Anchorage, Alaska.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include compiling, creating, and updating geospatial data layers, metadata, and attribute information for features in the ArcGIS mapping platform, while also developing cartographic products, such as maps, dashboards, and web applications in the ArcGIS Online environment.
Required Qualifications
On-the-job training will be provided, but a basic working knowledge of ArcGIS and AGOL are strongly desired. Candidates should be well-organized and have a keen eye for detail. The applicant must be coachable and self-driven and must be able to provide high-quality customer service and geospatial support to various resource specialists and program areas. This position will integrate with several interdisciplinary teams and work directly with resource specialists, leadership, and other GIS professionals, so strong communication skills are highly desired.

40 per week
Living Accommodations
Housing is not provided. Candidates must have or be able to obtain their own housing in the Anchorage area.
Compensation
Living Allowance - $450/wk
Housing Allowance - $1,200/mo
Duty-related reimbursements - $2,000
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.

This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans aged 35 or younger, at the start of the position. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority
