We are looking for an Information Systems Business Operations Intern to support our team in bridging the gap between IT and Operations by analyzing and documenting the market environment, processes, and systems. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the areas of IS and operations of ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals while you integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and develop your skills in a professional setting.

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery.
• Gather, interpret, and use complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and identify trends.
• Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues based on client and internal needs/requirements. 
• Review requests from the surgical hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to determine if vendor/ functionality already exits, needs a security review, and manage this request through its full life cycle.
• Assists with the interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the stakeholders.
• Create informative, actionable, and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assisting with implementations, project management activities, testing software, and collecting requirements

• Bi-weekly check ins with Manager on performance & objectives.
• Utilize problem solving skills.

• Prefer candidates that have completed at least one year of one of the following: Healthcare Related Field, Revenue Cycle Management, Computer Science, Project Management.
• Demonstrates effective research tactics, good organizational skills.
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers.
• Commits to continuous learning; being self‐motivated and self‐ directed.
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Be able to work with various internal groups and teams.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills.
• Interest in learning about healthcare information technology.
