About the role
The Senior Communications Associate will serve as an integral part of a highly-productive, organized, nimble team responsible for creating strategic communications campaigns that build awareness of Gopuff and further the company’s narrative. The Communications Manager will support the Director of Corporate Communications in a variety of day-to-day media relations, crisis, and internal communications tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a communications professional to gain experience with nearly every aspect of communications, from internal to corporate to consumer to crisis.

You Will
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments, including Gopuff’s Ads team, operations, finance, business development, merchandise and marketing to identify and draft newsworthy pitches and secure appropriate coverage.
- Liaise and collaborate closely with external public relations agencies to prepare for announcements, pitches, and crises.
- Update media lists, build key media relationships and help manage inbound media requests.
- Support the development of communications plans, including drafting press releases, newsroom posts, pitches, key messages and media Q&A.
- Support thought leadership and executive communications initiatives by drafting award applications, developing briefs and talk tracks, and helping prepare spokespeople for speaking engagements.
- Develop regular reports on Gopuff’s media coverage as well as industry trends.
- Help manage and recommend content for Gopuff’s LinkedIn page, ensuring a consistent drumbeat of relevant and engaging information is shared with the company’s followers.
- Support the team with crisis planning, including drafting reactive statements.
- Develop and edit internal content for distribution to various sectors of the business, including field and headquarters employees.
- Additional duties as assigned by leadership.
You Have
- Bachelor’s degree required; major in communications preferred
- 3-5 years of agency or in-house public relations experience, preferably in the consumer tech space
- Exceptional communication, organizational, writing and editing skills with careful attention to detail
- Highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and bias for action
- Able to transform complex subject matter into coherent, easy-to-understand language
- Direct media relations experience including pitching and cultivating relationships with media
- Demonstrated ability to execute public relations and communications campaigns
- Deep understanding of the media landscape, trending topics and current events
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to think critically
