RemoteCollins Aerospace is seeking an experienced and dynamic software applications professional to join our Engineering Enablement Foundation team with the primary responsibility of managing our software applications portfolio. This role will be a key team member helping the organization deliver and manage cost effective software solutions. The Engineering Software Asset manager would actively manage all aspects of our software portfolio, from introduction to retirement, and work across multiple Collins organizations, including engineering stakeholders, business leaders, and the Engineering Solutions team, to gather software requirements, and drive strategic sourcing decisions while partnering with key suppliers. The ideal candidate has a passion for managing software, balanced with knowledge of the engineering software marketplace.

What YOU will do:
You will support software supplier management and sourcing.
You evaluate vendor contracts and RTX Company Wide Agreement in alignment with software purchasing strategies.
You will engage and consult with stakeholders on required software capabilities and technology and develop purchasing strategy.
You will provide input and support Software Life Cycle Management improvement efforts.
You will participate in software governance activities to promote standards and reduce duplicative capabilities.
You will lead continuous improvement activities associated with reducing software procurement costs and improving customer experience.

You will learn how to gather and analyze license utilization data to drive maintenance and purchasing decisions.
Education & Experience:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications you must have:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
8 years of professional experience in software application portfolio management, IT asset management or similar area
Experience with software tools, license types, procurements, and renewals.
Software Vendor relationship management and contract negotiations
Skills We Value:
Vendor engagement/relationship management and contract negotiations.
Experience utilizing Jira Service Manager - Asset Management
Experience managing software lifecycle and licensing.
Experience troubleshooting usage and/or installing engineering tools.
Familiarity with multiple operating systems and information systems (Windows, Unix, and Linux)
Ability to work and collaborate in virtual environment where team members are not co-located.
