3D Printing Intern

Job Description:

 

HITT Contracting, a Washington Post Top Workplace, seeks a summer intern to join our Research and Development team from May to August in the Falls Church, Va. headquarters office. This entry level intern will support 3D printing initiatives including design and development of 3D printed components, inventory and organization of work areas, operation of large format 3D printers, process documentation, and day-to-day support of various initiatives. The position reports to the Manufacturing Manager in the Research and Development team and will be mentored / managed on a day-to-day basis by multiple members of the team. Responsibilities

• Design and development of 3D printed components, including large format, pellet fed structures

• Conducting inventory and organization of work areas

• Day-to-day support of 3D printing initiatives

• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to different processes

• Participate and provide meaningful input in departmental meetings

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong ideation sketching abilities

• Well organized individual with a professional attitude

• Skilled with 3D printing and CAD software – Fusion 360 preferred

• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

• Highly self-motivated and directed

• Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

• Knowledge of MS Office suite

• Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
