Senior Consultant, SAP Sales and Distribution

About the job and your team

In this role you will be an active member of the Business as Usual (BAU) support team for sales and logistics in Hydro, bridging the gap between business needs and technical resources.

 

The team provides functional support to internal customers running SAP S/4Hana as their ERP platform. This includes all stages from discussing, coordinating and clarifying requirements with business users, solution design, implementation, testing and production setting of error corrections, new functionality, improvements and projects within the sales and logistics area.

 

The team is situated in different locations and is part of Hydro Global Business Services (GBS), an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider to all business areas in the Hydro Group.

You will work on

• SAP projects, providing functional support throughout the whole project lifecycle from solution design, discussions with the business, customizing/configurating, test scenario definition, test support, production setting preparations, documentation, go-live support and post go-live support. 
• issue resolution on incidents and problems for live units in S/4Hana. 
• service and change requests management. 
• ensure stable business process continuation and improvements. 
• design, configure, test and train for business solutions in collaboration with solution/architect teams. 
• provide application maintenance, 2nd, and 3rd level production support services toward the customers, globally. 
• proactive system improvement proposals and initiatives. 
• collaborate with business solution departments to translate business requirements into feasible solutions. 

Your qualifications and skills

• Minimum 5 years’ functional or technical experience within SAP Sales and Distribution is required. 

• Knowledge of basic change management procedures within IT (ITIL). 

• Debugging skills are considered an advantage. 

• A degree in IT or other relevant areas, preferably combined with SAP certification. 

• Fluent in English is mandatory – additional Norwegian language is preferred. 

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an advantage. 

 

To succeed in this role, we believe you must be a team player who collaborates well at different levels and can also work independently on larger, moderately complex project assignments. 

 

You are customer oriented, always striving to understand their needs to provide appropriate support and solutions. This also requires an understanding of the technical environment of business applications. 

 

Finally, you should have a proactive approach to problem solving, and because both customers and colleagues are in different locations, be comfortable in a remote working environment. 

Additional information

Given that many customers are based in Norway, the primary location can be any Hydro-site in Norway, but we will also consider applicants in other European countries to be working in either nearby Hydro-sites or from home offices. 

International travel, primarily in Europe, will be occasionally required.
