As a Project Manager I within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX or Cleveland, OH.The Retail Digital Project Manager I plays a key role in supporting cross‑functional initiatives within our Retail Digital Technology organization. This role is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and driving the delivery of digital projects that enhance retail customer experiences, optimize digital operations, and align with broader business strategies. The Project Manager I works closely with product, engineering, user experience, marketing, compliance, and vendor partners to support successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the delivery of small‑to‑medium digital technology projects within the retail domain, ensuring tasks, milestones, and dependencies are clearly tracked and communicated.
• Assist in the development of project documentation, including project charters, schedules, resource plans, status dashboards, and risk/issue logs.
• Coordinate project activities using Agile, hybrid, or traditional methodologies based on project needs.
• Facilitate or support Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring alignment with retail digital strategies and customer experience goals.
• Translate business requirements into structured work items and assist teams in understanding scope and priorities.
• Ensure digital changes follow risk, compliance, brand, and accessibility guidelines applicable to retail and digital channels.
• Serve as a central point of coordination for project communications, timelines, and issue escalations.
• Prepare and deliver concise project updates to project teams, business stakeholders, and leaders as needed.
• Help teams navigate competing priorities by escalating risks and dependencies early.
• Identify and track issues, risks, and cross‑team constraints; support mitigation and resolution efforts.
• Ensure appropriate adherence to governance, documentation, and audit standards for digital delivery.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting or managing technology or digital projects in a matrixed or cross‑functional environment.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally).
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical partners across multiple teams.
• Strong communication, planning, organization, and documentation skills.
• Experience working with or coordinating vendor‑driven technology or digital solution implementations.
• Background in retail, digital product delivery, financial services, banking, or consumer technology environments is a plus.PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. Job Description
- Manages single project from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment. Project may require a partnership with multiple segments or channels. Accountable for meeting project objectives within established timeframes. Typically, project size may reach or exceed $500k.
- Plans and schedules project timeliness and milestones using appropriate tools. Accountable to ensure project team is resourced as needed.
- Partners with project team members to assign tasks, direct activities, and control project execution. Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Tracks and reports progress (management information system). Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
