Job Title: Director of Asset Protection

Salary Range: $120,000 – 140,000

Location: Seattle – Administration

About the Position
The Director of Asset Protection is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Total Retail Loss strategy for Evergreen Goodwill. This role leads all loss prevention, safety, and security initiatives across our retail, outlet warehouses, supply chain/logistics, e-commerce operations and Admin operations. The Director will oversee investigative efforts, security protocol development, risk mitigation programs, and data-driven approaches to reduce shrink, enhance safety, and protect company assets.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Develop and implement a Total Retail Loss Strategy that mitigates internal and external shrink and improves operational performance.
• Lead loss prevention, safety, and compliance programs across all retail, outlet warehouses, supply chain/logistics, e-commerce operations and Admin operations.
• Direct, mentor, and develop Regional Asset Protection Managers and Internal Investigator.
• Utilize data analytics to identify patterns of loss, theft, fraud, and operational inefficiencies.
• Oversee and manage internal investigations and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Operations to support policy enforcement and investigation outcomes.
• Create and implement training programs to educate staff on loss prevention, safety, and emergency preparedness.
• Ensure all security systems and policies are up-to-date and meet industry standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and external security partners.
• Manage and monitor performance metrics to track success of asset protection programs.
• Prepare and manage annual department budgets, aligning resources with organizational priorities.
• Champion a culture of safety and security, continuously reinforcing best practices and awareness.
• Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving issues. Works in partnership with the People Relations team as appropriate.

Education and Experience
◦ Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
◦ Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Retail Security.
◦ Demonstrated expertise in shrink reduction, internal investigations, and safety compliance.
◦ Proven experience managing multi-unit teams and cross-functional projects.
◦ Strong proficiency in data analytics, security systems, and investigative techniques.
◦ Experience working with law enforcement and legal compliance teams.
◦ LPQ, LPC, or CFE certification strongly preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
◦ Valid Washington Driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of insurance.
◦ Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
