Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Clinical Manager to lead the clinical and administrative operations of our Department of Ophthalmology's Oculoplastics and Contact Lens clinic. In this leadership role, you will work closely with the Clinic Director and Division Chiefs to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, support our care teams, and uphold high standards of service and patient care.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Supervise clinical operations, administrative, and technical staff
  • Support faculty, fellows, residents, and optometrists with technical and administrative needs
  • Coordinate imaging and diagnostic services across divisions
  • Prepare weekly MD and clinical staff work schedules 
  • Provide special assistance and services as needed for VIPs and POIs
  • Monitor staff performance and conduct performance evaluations
  • Maintain inventory and ensure functionality of clinical equipment and supplies
  • Update policies and procedures; guide staff in meeting CICARE service standards

Salary Range: $68,800-141,000 Annually 

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology of visual systems.
  • Familiarity with signs and symptoms of various ophthalmic problems to answer patient-related questions and triage calls when urgent evaluation is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and physicians to promote comfortable, cooperative and effective working relationships with patients, physicians and staff.
  • Familiarity with computerized patient appointment scheduling system.
  • Ability to organize work schedules for continuous coverage.
  • Flexibility in adapting to new assignments.
  • Skill in organizing work systems and prioritizing work.
  • Ability to collaborate with leadership in problem solving and implementing new and continuing patient care systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Availability to work after hours as needed. 

Preferred:
  • Certification as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Tech
