We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Quality Manager for our Fabrications & Machining Product Center supporting various mod center parts.  The module center serviced provides both manufactures and procures various engine hot section components such as airfoils, turbine castings, nozzles, and other critical components for multiple commercial and military engine programs. We are looking for a motivated, high energy Quality Manager to provide leadership to a team of SQE personnel.  This team is responsible for working closely with our suppliers to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs.  As part of the Supply Chain Quality Group, a major focus of this role is to support suppliers' quality as well as providing quality interface, expertise, and support to its suppliers, and to explore proactive initiatives to improve our processes in improving the suppliers quality signature, and in turn provide a quality product to our customers. 

This position reports to the Product Center Deputy Quality Director.

What You Will Do:

  • Understand key aspects of managing and assuring supplier quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery, and service.
  • Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and personnel supporting various part families.
  • Support day to day Module Center deliverables and initiatives with respect to supplier quality and metrics.
  • Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with all Mod Center production groups.
  • Establish and execute initiatives which ensure Module Center quality metrics are met.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams and CIPTs to improve product quality.
  • Drive inspection process improvements and promote a culture of continuous improvement using CORE tools (Standard Work, DAISE, mistake proofing, etc.).
  • Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering to execute the supply chain quality improvement plans to improve quality signature and ensure customer confidence
  • Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews for continuous improvement and establish VCAB’s with critical suppliers and initiate and execute improvement projects
  • Lead lean transformation initiatives which support the Product Center’s Lean Transformation plan.
  • Hire and support training of hourly inspection personnel.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • University Degree in engineering, quality or a technical discipline or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience and knowledge of quality procedures, quality management systems, AS9100 and regulatory agency requirements. In-depth understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9000 quality systems compliance in aerospace and related industries. 
  • Creative troubleshooting skills.
  • Computer skills- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project.
  • Participate in Process Improvement efforts.
  • Product knowledge of major rotating, critical to quality hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers (such as DCMA, FAA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements.
  • Working knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement principles and data analysis, i.e., Six Sigma, RedX, Lean, CORE, QCPC, DAISE
