Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Valley Healthcare System, Inc. in Columbus, GA. The role involves tasks such as filling prescriptions, assisting pharmacists, managing inventory control, and providing exceptional customer service to patients.

Summary: Performs all nonprofessional (administrative) aspects in the department, accountable for clerical duties that do not require professional judgment or extensive technical training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position is accountable for producing the following result: To provide support to the pharmacist and provide courteous expeditious service to our prescription customers. This includes, but is not limited to, inputting prescription data, billing insurance, ordering and maintaining proper pharmacy stock, communicating with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff, and accurately filling prescriptions and maintaining cleanliness and order in the pharmacy.
- This position is required to staff in the pharmacy every 3rdSaturday of the month and work at least 3 late nights (0830-2030) each month.
- Perform any other duties asked by supervisor when needed.
Potential Other Duties:
- Patient Assistance Program (PAM):
- Call manufacturers on status updates and order refills.
- Call patients to obtain required information for application process and utilize information to complete applications.
- Ensure to obtain signatures and prescriptions when deemed necessary per the participating Prescription Assistance Programs (PAP).
- Update patients on status of applications.
- Answer complex questions from patients and clinical staff while ensuring a high level of service.
- Utilize company systems, RX30, ECW, and Cervy to update needed information for application completion and submission.
- Review the financial eligibility information of patients and work the enrollment department as required to ensure that financial data is accurate and complete.
- Ensure the timely delivery of medications to program enrollees.
- Review processes and duties to reevaluate best practices.
- Identify qualified program requirements with participating PAP.
- Input data entry into various systems by accurately tracking tasks performed, contacts made, and medications distributed.
- Acts as liaison between the PAP companies, prescribers, and patients.
- Perform general project management: keeping track of issues and timelines, researching and solving complex issues, and compiling required documentation for daily activities.
- THIS INCLUDES PATIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR HCV/HIV
- Medication Therapy Management (MTM) assistance:
- gather information to aid in Medication Therapy Management (MTM)Services
- perform medication reconciliation to ensure accurate and up-to-date medication lists
- aid in finding solution when financial barriers prevent medication access through Patient Assistance programs, drug manufacturer coupons, etc
- Prior Authorization (PA) :
- Contact physician's office to obtain and validate current prescriptions and clinical documentation that is required by the plans
- Initiate prior authorizations through Cover My Meds and follow up on all pending
