About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman

Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. Job Description

AECOM Tishman is seeking an MEP Assistant Project Manager to support multiple sites in Long Island, New York for our ongoing work with our technology client.

Job Description:

  • Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
  • Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.  
  • May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
  • Assists with and monitors change orders
  • May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting
  • Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate
  • Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Architecture/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related curriculum and 2 years of relevant experience in Electrical/Mechanical/MEP related construction or A/AS (US) + 4 years of related experience or HS/GED + 6 years of related experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to work and learn in an MEP environment (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
  • 2-4 years of experience in interiors mechanical/electrical construction, renovation and retrofitting in commercial construction.
  • Mechanical experience and MEP highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in submittals, meeting minutes, project scope and scheduling. 
  • Ability to interact with many tiers of management on an active construction site.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel to various sites in Long Island, NY.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

  • This position will be located in Long Island, NY and is not hybrid nor remote.

  • Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $36.70/hr – 67.89/hr (non-exempt).
