Position Overview

The selected candidate will be required to work in a safety sensitive team environment with other co-workers and managers assisting in various areas running a service truck and operating other farm type equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Properly follow all company policies MSHA / OSHA / DOT regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Must have good people skills and be comfortable working alone.
  • Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project.
  • Operates fuel, grease and oil truck.
  • Lubricates moving parts and wearing surfaces of equipment as assigned.
  • Operates pressure greasing equipment .
  • Will maintain clean equipment.
  • May perform other duties such as changing filters and oil and record keeping.
  • Must have clean driving record and a valid CDL B heavy straight with necessary endorsements.  Air brake skills    test required for all vehicles that have air brakes.
  • The job will require climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs., stretching, driving,       pulling, twisting, kneeling, standing reaching, and using hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Follow directions of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • Perform daily pre–and–post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in training less–experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing and repair of equipment to                further their abilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Previous related experience in the construction field

 

 

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older due to nature of working conditions.
  • Must be able to complete required MSHA training within 90 days of employment
  • Must be able to complete Miner training prior to working in facility
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined per company policy.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes and Safety Vest.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Learn how to grease motors and gear boxes.
  • Learn how to repair torn or damaged conveyor belts.
  • Learn how to shovel safely and to use correct lifting techniques.
  • Learn how to perform a competent work place examination to identify hazards before starting work.

 

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

•     Availability to work any 8 to 12 hour rotating shift, including weekends.

•     Ability to walk or stand greater than one third of the time, or sit no greater than a third of the time.

•     Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands and fingers to handle and feel.

•     Ability to climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl.

  • Ability to wear hearing protection in areas of high sound levels.
  • Able to move/carry objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

 

Work Environment

  • Capability to work in elevated and or confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb ramps or stairs repeatedly and to climb vertical ladders occasionally.
  • Ability to work outdoors with a wide range of environment
