Pay Range
Training Pay: $22.96/hour
Regular Pay: $28.96/hour
Pay Range: $28.96-$31.17/hour (Steps 1 through 7 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement)

Job Description
The Lead Ramp Agent provides day-to-day‑ direction, guidance, and support to Ramp Agents to ensure safe, efficient, and high quality operation. This role serves as a working leader, performing all standard Ramp Agent duties while coaching team members and modeling exceptional performance.
This role is responsible for coordinating and balancing resources, coaching employees, and ensuring operational tasks are completed in compliance with customer instructions, safety standards, and plays a key role in supporting an on time, safety focused aircraft turn while fostering teamwork and upholding service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Always promote and maintain a culture of safety.
- Marshall aircraft into gate or designated parking spot.
- Pushback and/or tow aircraft to and from gate or designated parking spot.
- Meet and exceed operational targets while maintaining service, timeline, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the team and team members while leading, coaching, and motivating the team's work.
- Perform station leadership duties such as assigning flights for the day, scheduling and managing agents on a week-to-week basis.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team performance.
- Monitor team activities, ensuring that each team member follows proper operational and safety procedures and customer service standards, and verbally coach and recognize agents to reinforce and improve behaviors.
- Investigate operational, safety, and performance irregularities with focus on future prevention; Communicate findings and recommend improvements.
- Provide a comprehensive briefing and handoff to the next shift to ensure a seamless operation and overall benefit to the team and station.
- Mentor station agents, both newly trained and experienced, in all station agent job functions.
- Ramp duties may include
- Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft.
- Deliver passenger luggage and cargo to designated locations.
- Guide incoming and departing aircraft from the gate using hand signals and wing walking procedures.
- Service aircraft water and lavatory.
- Safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion.
- Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer's destination.
- Maintain clear communication with flight crews and other ground personnel.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority and carrier safety and security requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support McGee’s successful business operation.
Qualifications
Required
- 6 months of direct work experience as a Ramp Agent.
- Demonstrated skills in proactive and honest communication, providing direction and allowing team members to execute tasks, setting clear expectations and holding others accountable.
- Self-motivated, with proven ability to lead and direct the work of others in a positive way.
- Ability to provide specific and constructive feedback as well as positive recognition.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong active listening skills.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment and understand team objectives.
