Zurich North America is looking for a Senior Actuarial Technician to join our growing Finance & Actuarial Advanced Analytics team out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. While this position will be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters, we are offering the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.
Zurich North America Finance & Actuarial supports actuarial reserving by providing in-depth reserve analysis, loss forecasts, rate monitoring, and leading-edge explanatory tools and models. In this role you will assist with the creation and maintenance of actuarial specific predictive models which enable deep dive analysis to better understand the underlying drivers of performance and make the actuarial reserving process more efficient and more insightful.
You will be responsible for the following in the Senior Actuarial Technician role:
- Work with large sets of data and employ a range of statistical techniques to analyze claims data and claim development
- Assist with the production, implementation, and evaluation of advanced reserving models to assist in the allocation of IBNR
- Support the ongoing diagnostics and insights to aid in reserving analyses
- Work closely with the Data Visualization team to help tell a story and improve transparency of the models to key stakeholders
- Assist with the development of ad-hoc models to support Finance Actuarial
- Help employ best practices for model development
- Business Travel, as required
- Extended Hours during Peak Periods, as required
- Pass Applicable Actuarial Exams, as required
- Regular Predictable Attendance
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
AND - Knowledge of insurance products and operations
- Experience applying quantitative concepts
- Experience communicating analysis results

Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $106,900.00 - $175,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
