Think of the asphalt on the <em>Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, the Paris Metro Rail project, but also the Louis Vuitton Museum in Paris, parts of the Burj Khalifa, and the Kennedy Space Centre</em>. </p> <p> </p> <p>Learn more about us through the following <a href="https://www.crh.com/about-crh/at-a-glance" target="_blank">Link</a>. </p> <p> </p> <p>Position Overview </p> <p>The Strategic Finance team for CRH Europe will provide financial oversight, evaluation, guidance, and direction to optimise CRH Europe’s strategic position and resulting financial performance.</p> <p> </p> <p>The team will operate alongside Strategy and Development, Finance and other business professionals, working closely with business leaders to ensure CRH Europe develops its optimum strategic business plan and delivers financial growth in line with this. The team will take ownership of objectives and goals to drive the financial plan and maximise EBITDA, margin, RONA, and cash returns from the portfolio, ensuring that best value is derived from major investments and development projects across the Division.</p> <p> </p> <p>This role will report to the Head of Strategic Finance, with a third Strategic Finance Manager role making up the team, who together will guide from a financial perspective in four areas:</p> <p>1.      M&amp;A transactions and business development investment projects</p> <p>2.      Portfolio and strategic reviews</p> <p>3.      Playing an oversight role in liaising with relevant CRH stakeholders in the context of European development projects</p> <p>4.      Working with the European businesses to progress the evolution of the land development strategy and related initiatives</p> <p> </p> <p>Key Tasks and Responsibilities</p> <p>We are looking for someone who is passionate about business partnering and strategic finance. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to broaden the scope of their finance experience. It will provide practical experience of partnering to develop and deliver the businesses’ strategic business plan from a commercial and reporting perspective.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <p>As we evolve our strategic finance agenda, this role will flex and grow, but in the immediate term the focus of the role is to:</p> <ul> <li>Help to develop and maintain resources (handbooks, guidance manuals and templates) for use throughout the business to build awareness and consistency in our approach to the financial aspects of the various M&amp;A, investment and divestment activities. </li> <li>Support with transactional due diligence, financial evaluation, proposal “quality assurance”, acquisition integration, divestment separation, etc.</li> <li>Review proposals and re-perform supporting models to validate the business case presented.</li> <li>Primary point of contact, managing the flow of information, documents and feedback for the end-to-end acquisition and divestment oversight processes for CRH Europe.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Individual Competencies</p> <p>You are able to:</p> <ul> <li>Have Courage - Stepping up to address difficult issues, saying what needs to be said.</li> <li>Be Resilient - Rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations.</li> <li>Collaborate - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Key Functional Competencies</p> <p>You possess the following:</p> <ul> <li>Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build, develop and maintain relationships </li> <li>Excellent communication skills</li> <li>A pragmatic approach, with flexibility and adaptability </li> <li>Demonstrated positive attitude, open-minded team player</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Experience / Education</p> <p>You are/have:</p> <ul> <li>A qualified accountant with c.5+ years PQE</li> <li>Knowledge of financial modelling and valuations is an advantage</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word</
