Indian River Hospital’s Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary care teams, and the leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As Team Center Coordinator, you will provide top-quality customer service to patients, families and visitors to promote and support the best healthcare experience possible. You will perform various administrative and clerical duties to ensure efficient operational flow in your department while offering direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. This role offers you a unique opportunity to enhance both your management and nursing skills in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:45AM – 7:15PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
Provide or assist with basic patient care activities, such as vital signs, weights, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers and transports, pulse oximetry and point of care testing.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to an RN.
