Senior IT Project Manager

About the position

CEO of the project - ultimate responsibility for the success of larger, more strategic, multi departmental projects or programs of work. Delivering expected business value on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

* Owns and drives successful outcome of multiple mid to large sized projects with Interdepartmental engagement and complexity.

* Assuring application of industry best practices in solution design and project scoping.

* Demonstrates domain knowledge of business processes and systems involved cross departmentally to provide guidance and recommendations on how to achieve expected business value.

* Mentors Assoc Project Managers and Project Managers to aid in the proficiency in their role

* Plays an active role in annual roadmap planning - ensuring prior project experience is introduced in resource plan modeling and project prioritization.

• Aligns resources for the required work and when projects can begin; considering resource availability, capacity and dependencies

*  Coaching and mentoring the team, including the sponsor on how to achieve a successful project outcome; ensuring business value is realized

Competent to execute on these tasks without supervision and begins to provide direction to Associate level PM:

• Communicates work progress to project stakeholders on consistent cadence, escalating risks and issues when necessary.

*  Ensures all risks and issues are addressed though identification, documentation and getting actions agreed and mitigations completed

* Actively monitor all activities for the project, ensure teams synchronize their work

*  Ensure all teams are aware of their tasks ahead of time and committed to the timeline and deliverables.

*  Ensure stakeholders engage and know how they can help as well as make the required decisions on time.

• Effectively manage changes to project scope, timeline and resource alignment leveraging appropriate change management processes and communication.

*  Ensure there is a common vision of the project, what is needed to achieve and how it will operate.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven track record of successfully leading change resulting in desired business outcomes.

• Experience with supporting multiple implementation work-streams simultaneously

• Strong collaboration skills while working with SME's, senior leaders, and business users/ stakeholders

• Ability and desire to grow and coach less tenured project managers
 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years IT Project Manager or Software Development Project Manager

PMP and/ or Scrum Master Certifications a plus
