JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Job description:

The Science BS/MBA Program in the Eberly College of Science is seeking a student that is skilled in database management to oversee an internal program database resource for current students. This position is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, although the workload is anticipated to be periodic with database updates typically made on a quarterly basis. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintain roster of current students; maintain up-to-date profile information for current students and alumni; lead training sessions for current students in group meetings and individually as requested; making requested updates to the database infrastructure as discussed with Science BS/MBA Program leadership; and training new database managers as needed.

 

Skills required:

  • Qualities of leadership and initiative to execute the assignment in a creative and high quality manner.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and SharePoint.
  • Research skills to “datamine” and maintain up-to-date profiles for alumni and current students in the program.
  • Ability to effectively sort, filter, and visualize data to maintain a simple user-friendly interface.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to instruct others on how to access, use, and navigate this career tool.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
