About the role

Overview

The Gatorade Athlete Adoption Team (Gatorade marketing) is looking for a strategic and transformative marketer to help elevate Gatorade science credentials and brand credibility. This associate manager role will report to the Sr Manager, Athlete Adoption – Science and Medical Marketing - and will focus on working closely with the R&D Life Sciences/Gatorade Sports Science (GSSI) organization to keep Gatorade at the forefront of sports science and drive adoption across the medical practitioner community.

 

The candidate for this role must have a deep understanding of the medical marketing landscape, strong passion for translating science into actionable recommendations for practitioners and their patients, and a demonstrated ability to deliver strategic recommendations that blend “art” (marketing) with “science” (data/research) to drive consumer and practitioner understanding of Gatorade functional product superiority and associated business outcomes (increased equity and consumption). The ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally is a must, as this role/team will bridge R&D/GSSI with Gatorade marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of new medical marketing model and in-house medical marketing expertise with goal to increase medical practitioner recommendations of appropriate Gatorade products
  • Contribute science/medical marketing input into Athlete Adoption Team annual operating plan – inclusive of KPIs and budget development
  • Cultivate partnerships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals to position Gatorade as a trusted source within the medical community
  • Work with R&D team to develop high-impact innovation relevant to medical channel
  • Support AFH/healthcare sales team via selling materials and expertise
  • Collaborate with GSSI on strategic growth framework, with corresponding KPIs, for elevating Gatorade science credentials and driving consumer and practitioner understanding of functional product superiority
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing credibility through scientific backing, in collaboration with the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI), spanning education, technology, services, content, and engagement

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $89,000 - $149,000.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive brand/marketing experience, ideally with exposure to healthcare or medical marketing.
  • Experience developing and executing medical or healthcare-focused marketing strategies, including translating scientific insights for practitioner audiences.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to healthcare marketing
  • Strong bias for action, ability to take initiative and influence decisions across a matrixed organization
  • Ability to develop and cultivate relationships with external partners, internal key stakeholders, and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent project management, and prioritization skills with demonstrated track record of planning, organizing, and executing initiatives with positive business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to develop KPIs, analyze data, and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Ability to lead with resilience and an optimistic outlook in dynamic and evolving environments
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Empathy for the athlete and passion for the Gatorade brand
  • Ability to travel – approx. 10-15% of time
