This is a full time, exempt position
Position Summary:
This is an Senior position which is part of the commercial processing team in Lincoln, NE. This role’s primary focus will be for Columbus Corn Processing origination / merchandising activities. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers as well as colleagues from other ADM offices, the handling of logistics, accounting, execution and other customer related issues. As an Senior member of the merchandising team, you are required to have a higher level of critical thinking, market knowledge and employee development than intermediate and entry level talent on the team.

- Understanding of margin calculations & their effect on commodity pricing; Ensures the most cost-efficient transportation and logistics
- Understands the value of ADM owned transportation (i.e. barges, trucks and railcars)
- Develops a good working knowledge of freight spreads and competitor activities
- Develops a keen understanding and working knowledge of ADM information technology systems
- Understands and has strict adherence to corporate compliance policies & safety systems & programs
- Ensures that individual goals are aligned with company goals
- Constantly works on individual personal development within the company
- Develops good understanding of local plant operations and ADM Network in Nebraska
- Works to attain positive, collaborative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions & responsibilities
- Effectively use communication channels for accurate coordination within the office & other locations
- Portrays a positive image of the company and self when interacting with customers & colleagues
- Prepares and submits daily & ad hoc reports
- Helps in the development & training of new employees
- University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting) and 3+ years’ experience in commodity trading. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal & external customers.

- Is willing to work outside normal business hours including weekends
