The Opportunity:
We're seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 at our Belgrade, MT location! You will work alongside and be mentored by a diverse engineering group with experience in all aspects of engineering. You will assist with programs directed at improving America's technology in defense and work for an industry leader in Electro-Optical and Gimbal-Stabilized systems. This internship will enable you to strengthen personal and professional connections while building the foundation of a future career. This position requires you to work 100% on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Select components and create schematics for electrical harnesses
- Perform calculations needed to justify component selection
- Data entry for engineering drawings, procurement, and life cycle management software tools
- Document procedures for HW and SW testing
- Component research for obsolescence, replacement, and product improvement
- Perform measurements using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers
- Document results of procedures in report format
- Assist with project documentation for reports and design reviews
Qualifications:
Required:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Proficient understanding and experience with the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in basic electrical engineering calculations and application of Ohm's Law
- Completion of lower level Physics courses covering thermodynamics and electricity
- Firm understanding of mathematical principles associated with calculus and statistics
- Basic understanding of the use of electrical engineering tools such as a multimeter, oscilloscope, and power supplies
- Experience with report generation and presenting results to others
- Basic understanding of firmware and implementation of firmware on hardware
- Experience with reading component datasheets
Desired:
- Experience with schematic design, PCB layout, and PCB component selection
- Project experience which included electrical design and software/firmware integration
- Experience with MATLAB or Python
- Experience with electrical manufacturing tools such as soldering, crimping, and wire stripping
- Experience with basic CAD and 3D printing
- C++ programming experience
