About the role

Job Overview

A Certified Pharmacy Technician III is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in distributing medications to patients in the outpatient pharmacy. The distribution of medications includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, packing, labeling, and shipping medications.  Employees must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and pharma. Employees will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scope

Work Hours: 

  • Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Days
  • No weekends or holidays commitment

Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 for external qualified candidates (one-year work commitment)

Job Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is required (Approved certs: Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association)
  • Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in medication preparation by selecting, counting,  packaging, scanning, labeling, filling, and shipping medications per department guidelines. Select the appropriate medications and accurately labels. 
  • Optimizes workflow by efficiently and accurately completing job duties and prioritizing workload. Has a good overall job knowledge and uses good technical and procedural judgment. Assists with other duties as necessary for efficient pharmacy operations. Shows initiative and flexibility in carrying out day-to-day tasks. Utilizes appropriate and logical problem-solving techniques. Identifies critical issues and communicates to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. 
  • Responds politely and professionally to pharmacist/nursing/physician/patient or other requests via telephone, in writing, or in person. Appropriately manages, triages, and ensures timely follow-up of all requests. Assists in the training of new employees.
