North Park University is seeking a well-qualified Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematics.
Duties and Responsibilities
The College of Arts and Sciences at North Park University seeks applications for a visiting Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Mathematics for the Spring 2024 semester.
The department is seeking a candidate with expertise in teaching proof-based courses.
- Teach proof-based courses including Discrete Mathematics.
- Teach additional introductory level courses based on the needs of the department.
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and full-faculty activities and meetings as well as University events and programs
Requirements
Required:
- PhD in Mathematics or related area.
- An ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with students, administrators, faculty, staff members, and outside constituencies.
- Enthusiastic about teaching in a Christian, liberal arts environment that is open to all students.
- Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education.
- Have good attention to detail and excellent organizational and planning skills.
Desired:
- Experience as a classroom teacher in a diverse school setting.
- Familiarity with Canvas or similar Learning Management System.
- Ability to work independently and with others, and to be proactive.
- Comfortable with using new technology.
