The Opportunity

Procter & Gamble is seeking a Senior Scientist – Products Research/Product Design to join our work in Functional Fibers.  Join the Transformative Platform Technology team (1TPT -) and be part of driving pioneering innovation in  the product design/development space. At 1TPT, our mission is to accelerate P&G's growth through emerging technology solutions, solving the performance-sustainability trade-off and transforming the industry. We are seeking for candidates with strong critical thinking skills who love to lead projects while mentoring and developing others.  Successful applicants will lead programs in one of our declared “Disrupt Tomorrow” spaces, identifying and defining the consumer and technical problems to solve with potential for category growth in the Toilet Cleaning Category. 

This role will be focused on leading a learning market, driving decision making and influencing the innovation glide paths to drive category growth. You will translate consumers' unmet needs into technically feasible solutions, working closely with formulation, technology, and commercial partners to innovate in new benefit spaces.

Position Responsibilities

  • Drive growth within category, with focus on the Water Free Solutions Disruptive Space (Functional Fibers platform)
  • Lead the execution of consumer research and technical learning plans during the Discover and Design phase of disruptive innovation. Your ability to navigate ambiguity, while maintaining strong technical rigor as projects advance, will be crucial.
  • Develops in-depth consumer understanding to identify new jobs to be done to influence Toilet Cleaning innovation master plan in leading and completing all aspects of an integrated learning plan (consumer, product, packaging, etc.)
  • Working collaborative with a multidisciplinary team to deliver Irresistible Superior Propositions that win in the market. 
  • Lead the successful execution of the programs in "Disrupt Tomorrow" space, establishing clear goals, milestones, and metrics to track progress and ensure timely delivery. 
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members, assisting in the definition of daily and weekly priorities.

  • Is passionate about penetrating consumers difficulties/tensions, the problem to be solved, the technology to solve the problem, and environment to then integrate into comprehensive consumer experiences.  
  • Is meticulous and analytical in nature, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Has the ability to prioritize, manages time and teams effectively.
  • Can produce and present information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or other relevant scientific field
  • 5+ years experience in Consumer - Product Research/Development with expertise in translating consumer insights into technical requirements to win. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis including qualitative, quantitative (i.e. JMP), and behavioral understanding. Consumer to Product modeling (C2P2T)
  • Prior experience with designing and placing consumer product usage tests including questionnaire design, Quality Assurance and Governance approvals for release, documenting digital records, etc.  
  • Prior experience driving large, multi-functional business initiatives within a corporate environment.
  • Can exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and conducting product research and analysis.
  • Ability to work onsite at least  4 days per week in Cincinnati, OH based office.

Pay Range: $105,000 - $150,000
