Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician (Open Rank) Opportunity:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a diverse, collaborative team of clinicians dedicated to advancing developmental and behavioral care for children. UTMB is a tertiary referral center for Southeast Texas and beyond.
The successful candidate will join a robust & rapidly growing division that includes:
Four faculty pediatricians, three psychologists specializing in autism spectrum disorders, six mental health nurse practitioners, and licensed psychotherapists.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and engage in meaningful clinical care and academic activities.
The successful candidate will practice primarily at UTMB’s Main Campus on Galveston Island, with the possibility of providing care 1-2 days per week at one of UTMB’s off-island clinics. This position offers the ability to provide full-scope of developmental behavioral care while contributing to resident education and faculty practice.

Position Overview:
This full-time academic role combines clinical care, education, and scholarly activity within a collaborative health system. The successful candidate will:
- Provide comprehensive developmental-behavioral pediatric care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the division’s clinical, educational, and academic missions.
- Deliver patient-centered, high-quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications:
Required
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
