We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Rail Transit Leader – Southern California with a strong focus on project and staff management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing projects, managing a large team, and client management  within the Southern California rail transit sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication and relational skills,  while ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Portfolio and Financial Management: Monitor projects budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve profitability.

• Project Management and Project Manager Oversight: Oversee the successful delivery of rail projects, working closely with project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.  Plans the complete project execution and develops the project manual.  Schedules and monitors manpower requirements against the project budget/spending performance, including managing activities related to project scope, schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, communications, coordination, manpower, discipline requirements, resources, procurement, and risk elements required to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility.  Select, supervise, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure a successful project.

• Subject Matter Expert: On technical and project insights, trends related Rail/Transit matters.

• Staff Management and Development: Manage a staff of rail-focused engineers and designers. Provide guidance and mentorship to rail staff. Recruit and grow rail staff resources as needed to support project needs.

• Resource allocation: Scheduling and monitoring staffing requirements against project performance and budget.

• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered with minimal disruption.

• Financial Management: Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve profitability.

• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential rail clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.

• Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance the company's visibility and expand its network of contacts within the rail industry.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering teams, business development, and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies for business growth.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes within the rail sector, and incorporate them into the company's business development strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering,  or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in rail project management and technical work, with a proven tr
