Are you interested in sharing your Survey skills with Trimble’s customers and resellers?

The Geospatial Survey Support Engineer provides prompt assistance to business partners, resellers, end-users, and internal Trimble teams relating to product information and technical support. This individual serves the Surveying & Mapping Franchise under the Trimble Geospatial business area. Success in this position requires timely maintenance of technical product and sales support cases to reduce company costs as well as customer and dealer dissatisfaction. This position will focus on, but will not be limited to the Trimble Survey product lines which includes hardware such as Trimble total stations, GNSS receivers, 3D laser scanners, and various field and office software that support these systems.

Typical activities:

  • Provide fast and efficient customer service to business partners, resellers, end-users, and internal Trimble teams

  • Provide advanced technical support on problems of diverse scope, where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

  • Effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues across the Trimble Survey & Monitoring product portfolio

  • Provide new product input, field-testing and subsequent product release feedback

  • Develop specific technical communications and documentation as required

  • Communicate information effectively to product marketing, product management, engineering, and other internal Trimble teams for the betterment of Trimble products

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Degree in Surveying, Geomatics or a related field is preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with resellers, customers, and co-workers under all circumstances

  • Must be fluent in English with the ability to articulate thoughts verbally and in written form in a professional and organized manner. Spanish speaking would be beneficial

  • Excellent and demonstrated communication skills: written and verbal, in-person, and via telephone required

  • Effective decision-making, planning, communication, and collaborative problem-solving

  • Experience and strong competency with Trimble survey equipment and software is preferred

  • Must be a team player and be able to leverage resources through sound organizational skills and teamwork. 

  • Experience with classroom training and presenting. 

  • Some domestic and international travel may be required

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen or have required work visas

  • Ability to analyze data quickly to make fast decisions

  • Ability to identify, define, and solve complex problems

  • Ability to explore various alternatives and select appropriate solutions to best meet organizational goals while resolving a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways

  • Be responsible for adding value for customers beyond expectations

  • Able to take ownership and follow through on tasks inside and outside of daily workload

  • Must be comfortable with learning new skills, systems & technologies
