The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for a DevSecOps Software Engineer (Experienced / Senior) to join the Space Launch System – Exploration Upper Stage (SLS EUS) Controller team located in Titusville, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
This position is responsible for leading the team supporting the infrastructure, software, and systems housed at the Titusville Development Lab (TDL), which plays a key role in the development and formal qualification of the Stage Controller software for NASA's Exploratory Upper Stage (EUS) sea-level testing during the Green Run event. The role involves handling requests for configuration changes, executing test procedure, resolving problem reports, and ensuring seamless system functionality through service support and expertise in software and hardware integration. The LabOps lead will be responsible for the coordination of activities held at the TDL including software development, integration and test. Additionally, this position may require extended shifts and flexible work arrangements to accommodate test and integration activities.
Position Responsibilities:
• Support/Lead development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.
• Support/Lead automation, development, monitoring, improvement, and troubleshooting across software development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.
• Support/Lead analysis, planning, and execution of mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Implements an environment that enables high levels of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software engineering systems.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• 5+ years of experience with administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet network security requirements
• 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems
• 5+ years of experience in scripting activities in a Linux or Windows environment
• 5+ years of experience in following a software development life cycle (i.e., application development & SW Dev support)
• 5+ years of experience with technical writing and/or process documentation
• 2+ years of experience of leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• Proficiency in automated software build CI/CD pipelines and associated tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible).
• Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems, and networks, with the ability to build, integrate, and troubleshoot software and hardware components.
• Experience in system/application automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Experience in deploying and/or administering Oracle Linux (e.g.,VMs, virtual servers, hosts, servers)
• Experience developing and maintaining scripts, particularly bash, YAML, and Python
• Experience interpreting Hardware/system drawings and specification
• Knowledge of scaled Agile Development frameworks (e.g., SAFe) and their implementation.
• Experience in configuration management and documentation to support system audits.
• Experience with developing and maintaining formal engineering logbooks and redlines
