As RN in the Emergency Department (ED), you will help patients feel comfortable, at ease and supported while receiving treatment. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. On this team, you will have numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 6:45AM – 7:15PM, with holiday and rotating weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire
Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) within two years of hire
One year of current acute care and/or ED RN experience OR licensed mili
