IEF Senior Engineering Process Writer in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
This is a technical writer position that requires strong focus on communication, both written and oral, across all mediums of presentation. A successful candidate should possess:
- strong English and grammar skills, to include editing, journalism, and/or publishing experience to compliment the technical communication aspects
- experience with content management systems and version control/configuration management
- ability to present information effectively to multiple levels of the company in electronic, oral, and/or written form
- experience with SharePoint, Knowledge Management, and usability best practices (preferred)
- experience with graphic design concepts and practices, including the development of visual concepts intended to inform, inspire, and/or persuade; experience with either print or electronic media is acceptable (preferred)
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree English, Business Administration or related technical field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years process writing experience to include 2 years of process analysis experience. 3 years in a regulated industry preferred.. Position Purpose:Under limited supervision, gather, identify and document functionality, workflow, and administration of various process/procedural solutions for complex and comprehensive tasks. This position leads the documentation lifecycle process from user specifications to final product delivery, including creating, editing, and delivering online and print dissemination.Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:- Lead and facilitate work teams including process improvement teams and other integrated cross-functional project teams. Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of work teams.
- Develop strategies and roadmaps for Engineering policies, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with regulatory entities to ensure accurate and compliant procedures and processes. .
- Conduct interviews with technical staff and other subject matter experts, attending meetings and preparing responses to various audiences and management levels.
- Perform audits, analyze results, and implement process improvements. .
- Ensure work standards are continually focused on company priorities and requirements. Review functional output for quality and work standard adherence.
- Research and integrate industry best practices with company objectives to produce timely and comprehensive documentation in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop data management policies and respond to external and regulatory requests for information.
- Contribute to business case development and may assume some project management responsibilities. .
- Strong background in at least one professional desktop publishing software application (e.g. MS Publisher, Framemaker, Pagemaker).
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, process mapping, and MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio.
- Strong proficiency in information gathering, information organization, and synthesis/reorganization skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work both in collaboration with others on a project team and independently complete tasks.
- Ability and desire to keep track of document and project details, work quickly and efficiently on documents and tasks while still maintaining high quality in work.
- Demonstrated proactive mentality and assertiveness in creating and owning processes and documents.
- Must have an aptitude to understand engineering and other technical information, project management and time management skills.
- High problem solving skills and an ability to respond and adapt to change.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
