About the role

Job Description Summary

The TAVS EHS, Facilities & Security Leader is accountable for shaping and executing the Operational Safety, EHS, Facilities, and Security strategy for all TAVS shops. This leader provides functional oversight to the EHS, Facilities, and physical Security across the Turbine and Airfoil Value Stream (TAVS) Part Family, ensuring GE Aerospace EHS, Facilities, and Security policies and practices are rigorously followed and continuously improved across all locations.

The role will define the strategic vision and operational framework for best-in-class performance in industrial safety, environmental stewardship, facilities management, and security, while driving a strong zero-incident culture and safe, reliable, and compliant facilities across all TAVS locations. This position may be based remote or in West Chester, OH.

This position will require up to 80% travel.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Functional EHS, Facilities & Security leadership for TAVS

  • Provide oversight and indirect leadership for the EHS, Facilities, and Security functions within the Turbine and Airfoil Value Stream (TAVS) Part Family, spanning multiple sites.
  • Coach and mentor site EHS and  Facilities leaders and broader site teams within TAVS to drive consistent standards and best practices.

Operational Safety, EHS, Facilities & Security strategy

  • Partner across TAVS sites to characterize and predict risk, fortify layers of protection, and validate defenses to support a zero-incident culture and resilient facilities and security posture.
  • Establish and Drive  Daily Management rigor and connectivity across all locations.
  • Partner with TAVS leadership to establish, monitor, and manage Operational Safety, EHS, Facilities, and Security KPIs.

Management of Change and standard work

  • Drive rigorous Management of Change (MOC) processes for system-altering and risk-significant changes across sites, including changes impacting safety, environment, facilities, and security.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to Operational Safety, EHS, Facilities, and Security Standard Work (for example, risk mapping, defense strength reviews, process hazard assessments, site security standards, and critical facility infrastructure procedures).

Facilities and Security oversight (multi-site)

  • Provide multi-site oversight of facilities operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant building and infrastructure performance across all TAVS locations.
  • Ensure business continuity and resiliency planning for facilities and security, including emergency response, crisis management, and disaster recovery coordination with site and functional leaders.
  • Partner with sourcing, real estate, IT, and other enabling functions to plan and execute facilities projects, security system upgrades, and capital investments in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner.

Continuous improvement

  • Lead EHS and Facilities/Security daily management routines across TAVS shops to drive visibility to risk, issues, and performance.
  • Facilitate Problem Solving, Action Planning, and Kaizen events to continuously improve Operational Safety, EHS, Facilities, and Security performance.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices, leveraging industry, regulatory, and security trends.

Compliance and governance

  • Partner with site leaders to drive adherence to GE Aerospace processes, policies, and standards, and applicable laws and regulations related to EHS, Facilities, and Security.
  • Align with and help evolve the GE Aerospace EHS and Security frameworks from a TAVS perspective, ensuring site-level implementation and feedback.
  • Influence effectively in a highly matrixed environment across operations, engineering, supply chain, real estate, sourcing, IT, and other functions.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of EHS and/or Facilities leadership experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment) 
  • At least an additional 5 years of EHS and/or Facilities leadership experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment
