About the role

Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) supports Johns Hopkins’ focus on research, teaching and patient care, and its role as a national and global leader in higher education. We create and foster enduring relationships that result in advocacy and philanthropic support for Johns Hopkins University & Medicine—strengthening the institution through partnerships with donors, alumni, volunteer leaders, faculty, students, staff, and patients.

Johns Hopkins University supports a flexible work environment. This position operates on a hybrid modality, three days onsite. Traditionally that onsite presence will be in Baltimore at the School of Nursing, with monthly opportunity to be in Washington, D.C., at IPS. When going to D.C., there would be no request to be in Baltimore that same week. Travel days for university business count toward onsite days. The manager will confirm the team’s core onsite days where the majority/all team members will work in the office.

The Institute for Policy Solutions (IPS) works with health policy leaders, innovators, and researchers to redesign the U.S. health system. With the goal of shifting policy and practice to more preventive, value-based and whole-person care, the Institute elevates, develops and implements evidence-based, actionable nurse-led solutions. A focus on eliminating racist policies and structures entrenched in the country’s health care establishment and other systems underpins the Institute’s work.

The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON) is a globally-recognized leader in nursing education, research, and practice. In U.S. News & World Report rankings, the school is No. 1 nationally for its master's and DNP programs. In addition, JHSON is ranked as the No. 3 nursing school in the world by QS World University. With over 15,000 alumni, the school has an excellent reputation for training of future nursing leaders and nurse educators, and, among other things, specializes in community public health nursing, global nursing, geriatric nursing, and patient safety.

The Sr. Associate Director of Development will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Institute for Policy Solutions (IPS) by securing transformational philanthropic investments and building deep relationships with institutional and individual donors. The Sr. Associate Director will serve as a key partner to IPS leadership, overseeing high-impact philanthropic strategies that drive innovation, elevate IPS’s mission, and increase its influence.

The Sr. Associate is an integral member of a highly successful development and alumni relations (DAR) team at the top-ranked school of nursing.
