Christiana Care Primary Care at Hockessin is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant II with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills.
ChristianaCare Primary Care at Hockessin is in Hockessin, Delaware. ChristianaCare Primary Care at Hockessin provides comprehensive primary medical care for adults and children, including vaccinations, physical examinations, and minor medical procedures.
The Medical Assistant II ensures high-quality patient care, assists providers with virtual and on-site exams and treatments, and provides leadership by mentoring staff and supporting practice operations.
Work Schedule:
- Monday: 8 am - 5pm
- Tuesday & Thursday: 8am - 6pm *one late night shift required per week.
- Wednesday: 6:45 am – 3:45pm
- Friday: 8am – 4:30 pm
- No weekends no holidays

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant II supports virtual and on-site patient care by rooming patients, recording vitals, performing tests, injections, medication administration, and EKGs. They assist clinicians with exams and procedures, prepare treatment rooms, manage EMR documentation, handle patient callbacks, and maintain equipment sterilization. Additional duties include managing authorizations, referrals, refills, scheduling, quality control of POCT equipment, clerical tasks, supply management, staff coverage, and ensuring safe work practices.
Position Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
- 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is required; 3 years’ experience is preferred
