Join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician II, where you'll be instrumental in keeping our operations running smoothly by maintaining and repairing a wide range of machines, mechanical equipment, and facility structures. This role offers the opportunity to apply your diverse skill set in machine repair, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and sheet metal work, ensuring that our facilities remain in top condition and fully operational. What You Will Do:
- Comprehensive Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures, ensuring the functionality and safety of all facility components.
- System Troubleshooting: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility mechanical components and electrical systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operations.
- Machine Repair & Preventative Maintenance: Execute machine repair and general preventative maintenance on equipment, strictly adhering to preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment longevity and performance.
- Facility & Equipment Upgrades: Provide crucial support in the development and implementation of facility and equipment upgrades, contributing to the continuous improvement and modernization of our operations.
- Documentation: Accurately maintain all paperwork to document repair and preventative maintenance work completed, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Versatility & Adaptability: Take on additional duties as assigned, demonstrating versatility in addressing a wide range of maintenance needs, with the ability to wear and utilize respiratory protection when required.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize basic communication and computer skills to effectively manage tasks, and employ strong knowledge in making accurate measurements and understanding tolerances to ensure precision in all work.
- Blueprint & Manual Interpretation: Read and understand manuals, procedures, diagrams, and blueprints, applying this knowledge to perform maintenance tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Equipment Operation: Demonstrate high proficiency in the use of forklifts and scissor lifts within a maintenance setting, ensuring safe and effective handling of equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain a strong attention to detail in all maintenance tasks, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards.
- Flexible Scheduling: Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as needed, to meet the demands of the facility and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Work Environment:
In this role, you'll work in a dynamic and hands-on environment where safety and precision are paramount. You'll need the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds as required, and you'll regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as kneepads, steel toe shoes, and other gear essential for maintaining safety on the job. The role demands adaptability and a commitment to following all safety protocols while working in diverse conditions to keep our facilities running smoothly.
