Your Role 

 

Your job will be to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will collaborate with our broader design team to develop design solutions and coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project.  

This role is an active participant in our studio’s AI transformation. We are looking for a designer who integrates AI tools into visualization, iteration, and documentation workflows as a matter of practice, not experimentation. You will be expected to demonstrate AI-assisted work in your portfolio and contribute to team fluency as we evolve how technical design work gets done. Your work ethic, combined with your commitment to collaboration and mentoring, makes Gensler the perfect place to nurture your career. 

 

What You Will Do  

  • Work closely with Design Director, Studio Director, Design Manager, Design team to develop architectural solutions from conceptual level through construction documentation. 

  • Render and produce high-quality visualizations and diagrams: Create compelling graphics and renderings that effectively communicate design intent, leveraging AI-assisted rendering tools (including FLUX-based and diffusion model workflows via RunDiffusion) to accelerate iteration speed and expand the range of options presented to clients.

  • Develop and study design options: Analyze and refine design ideas through sketches, 3D models, and iterations based on initial concepts; use AI-assisted workflows to generate, evaluate, and compress iteration cycles without sacrificing design judgment.

  • Collaborate with a Project Architect (PA): Work closely with a PA to develop detailed drawing sets and technical documents.

  • Direct preparation of conceptual designs, space plans, presentations, and design development.

  • Lead coordination with the Design/Technical team and Project/Design Manager(s).

  • Lead coordination with client team, project manager, construction manager and others to develop design deliverables and freehand sketches.

  • Review and manage project programs and design deliverables

  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.

  • Drive project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them. Coordinate sustainability targets with project consultants and engineers.

  • Implement sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design
