The Content Editing Team Lead acts as our Lead Editor and supervises a team of Content Editors. The Content Editing team reviews content written by the Product Services team for quality, localization-readiness, and grammatical accuracy. They also manage and enforce the rules defined in our style guide(s) and other standards.

The Product Services content areas include but are not limited to: knowledge base and educational content (articles, video scripts, graphics, closed captioning), and in-product content (landing pages, user interface text).

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that content written by the Product Services team is reviewed and edited for quality, accuracy, consistency, clarity, and localization-readiness
• Provides team members with constructive criticism on how to improve their reviews and skillset
• Provides writers with constructive feedback on how to improve their writing
• Creates and maintains processes and procedures related to team writing standards, such as our style guide(s) and review checklists
• Researches writing standards to ensure we are writing the best possible content
• Be a subject matter expert for proper writing on the team
• Works closely with manager to ensure the team is working efficiently
• Directs and manages people and projects to ensure they’re on track to meet deployment deadlines
• Creates, reviews, and recommends updates to team processes and procedures
• Assists team members in planning out new projects
• Reviews team’s recommended revisions to ensure quality feedback was provided
• Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Technical Communication, English, or related field) preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in technical writing, proofreading or similar experience
• Minimum 1 year experience leading people or project initiatives
• Experience with Google Docs
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communications (grammar, spelling, sentence structure) and proofreading skills
  • Eagerness to teach others about writing high quality content and following grammar rules and other writing standards
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to deliver thoughtful and constructive feedback
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organization skills

  • Ability to shift priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred:
  • Strong understanding of how to write content to prepare it to be translated/localized
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Experience with project management
  • Familiarity with UX writing standards
