Applicants applying for the GS-14 must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing the business operations activities and functions of an office and related to at least two of the following programs: Administrative Support Services, Human Resource Management, Inspections and Internal Controls, Security, Logistics, and Task Force Management; 2) Planning, to include tracking and reporting on accomplishments of program, goals and milestones that determine program efficiency; 3) Providing technical direction to subordinate employees on work to be accomplished; 4) Resolving complex and highly controversial issues and problems; and, 5) Assessing efficiency of the programs through studies, data collection and data analysis.
